Microsoft's new operating system Windows 7 is now available. I strongly suggest you check it out, as it can bring life into some of those older (not ancient) machines around the house. However when you install it on your current or power computer you'll see the real benefits, and with all the different versions there's sure to be one fit for you. I've included a few links at the bottom to help you choose which version is for you and weather or not it will work on your computer so take a look at the info and decide if now's the time or not to upgrade, also till the end of the year YinWare will be offering a discounted price on our operating system install service when paired with Windows 7.

Meaning of the logo:

The logo has a lot of meaning for us at YinWare. As you can see it’s mainly made up of the yin yang symbol and the company name. The yin yang has many different meanings; hot/cold, right/wrong, male/female, soft/hard and etc. However to us it brings out both sides of the computer repair business, first the Yin - knowledge, software, concept and second the Yang - experience, hardware, manufacture. Together they make the base on which we stand.

• Hardware repair/upgrade/install:

o When most computers break down or do not function correctly it is usually due to either a hardware failure or software not communicating with that hardware. A technician will isolate and diagnose the issue for repair. In most cases we’ll do a quick question/answer with you on the phone to be better prepared before meeting in person to fix the computer.

• Operating System Install:

o When installing an Operating System (OS) there can be a lot of little hassles that can make the process a cumbersome one. YinWare will install the OS and make sure that all of the drivers are working properly. This will ensure that the OS will be stable and will work with all the peripherals attached to your system.

• Wi-Fi Network Setup:

o A wireless network offers great benefits to the house hold. Being able to wander about the house or work place makes surfing the net or completing other online task’s a breeze. Plus, running Ethernet cables all over can get expensive. With a wireless network setup we’ll make all the connections and setup your wireless security. We will also make sure you know how to access the settings should you decide to make changes in the future.

• Virus/Spy-ware Removal:

Now for a little about me, it all started in high school where I became interested in computers for the first time. After a little exploration I became the yearbook computer tech, with much help from my friend’s (Mark, Jack, Mike, Nick, etc) I maintained the computer network and learned a lot. After high school I set out to learn even more with Schoolcraft College, and ITT Tech, all the while building and repairing computers for friends and family. For a brief while, my wife and I moved to Virginia where I held a job with a cable communications company as a technician for TV, Phone, and Internet. Now I live in Michigan. I can see there is a need for quality computer repair and education, therefore YinWare was born for you, my friends, family, and all those I’ve yet to meet. With the help from my brother’s James and Jacob we’ll be sure to take care of all your computer needs.

October Fest Results

The October Fest went fairly well, though not to many people were able to come out. YinWare made it's debut and let the public know they had a choice for computer repair that wouldn't break the bank. Although rainy and cold at the start of the day it fianly panned out and warmed up a little, allowing people a change to come and see all the business's there. I was able to meet a few folks that might play a part in YinWare's growth. One such company was called Redford Print, who makes t-shirts in such so when the time comes I'll be looking them up for a few items. Overall I'm glad we were able to go and I hope to present a much larger and more funded YinWare next year. So with a few goals and an opportunistic attitude we move forward!

My name is Robb, and I am currently one of the creative minds behind Yin Ware's design. I've known Caleb for 15 years and ever since we first met we have been talking about creating this company so it has a lot of history. Caleb introduced me to computers and as far back as I could remember I had an interest in them.

I worked at Comcast for 3 years as a Help Desk agent, helping people solve there Network and Internet issues. From there I was able to move into an IT Help Desk position for a billion dollar Law Firm / Insurance Agency, which I support over 8,000 users. I currently build / repair and troubleshoot every known computer issue.

However the chances of you seeing me at your front door is slim, as I said I am one of the creative minds of Yin Ware, I am the one who designed the site logo, and I am working behind the scenes to get the website up and running.

I have always been fascinated with computers since I was young. It started with a system my brother had gotten when he was growing up, The Odyssey. It was an Atari-like video game machine mainly for the purpose of playing video games. From there it grew into machines like Nintendo, Apple Computer, Windows PC’s and the many other computer systems in between. I was hooked. I had gotten my own personal computer when I was 12 or 13 years old. All those years growing up with technology has fueled my interest for technology and encouraged me to learn more.

The years between then and now have been built on much self taught knowledge in computers. For good or evil the Computer and been explored and exploited by me across many platforms and gives me an insight to many computing problems and their solutions.

Today I enjoy my hobby of being a computer building enthusiast where I frequently build computers for friends, family and businesses with my spare time. I currently work at TRW Automotive where I am a senior support technician. I also help my friend with his technical needs in his business he owns called Dynamitek. He services clients from around the local area where he provides their technical support needs ranging from building new networks to desktop support. I provide my knowledge of networks and system building for his company. I currently have a BA in Computer Network Systems as well as A+ and MCP certifications and a wealth of self taught knowledge in computers.

The township of Redford is have a convention for small and local businesses. Each business gets a table where they can show what their company has to offer, and I was lucky enough to get a spot at this convention. Woot! finialy got a little cash.. key word being little, to buy a new computer. So I ordered some new parts, but I took my old case and got a little creative trying to cut corners. First I had to clean the whole thing up, it was very dusty, then as it is made of metal, I scratched up a bit so the paint would stick and turned my old silver junker in to a new shiny silver/black case. Over all it turned out pretty good, and its a great way to get a new case with a little paint a few hours and some patients. Here's a little good luck to all you self mod'rs out there. :)

Crash and Burn!

For some time now under my kitchen sink there's been a little leak nothing big, but the pipes were rusted kinda bad and I thought they could be come a real problem in the future. So we had the pipes replaced, only the repair man on accident knocked loose a water line and didn't know. When we came home I had water dripping all over my computer desk which is in the basemen directly below the kitchen. Now at the time my wife just put some towels down and shut off all the electronics till i got home to asses the situation. Well its been a long week and good but even longer weekend, so by the time I got around to using my computer I discovered that although the computer and most other things were fine, my 1TB "My Book" external drive was fried :(. Mistakes happen so no hard feeling's to the repair man but ouch...I lost a lot of client data, website info, and general media storage (movies, TV, etc), so wish me luck as i have to start all over.

Our website is creeping along. We had to engage a few new developers as our last one just didn't pan out :(. However rest assured we will have a website....someday. In other news YinWare is doing fairly well with spot jobs here and there, with winter around the corner I expect many broken PC's as the cold sets in and people are not able to go out as much.
